Grad mladih I. / The City of Youth I.

Kao što sam već pisala, zadnji tjedan u rujnu provela sam u Gradu mladih. Vodila sam predškolsku djecu iz svoje grupe (13) i još 5 djece iz ostalih mješovitih grupa. Kolegica s kojom sam trebala voditi djecu nije mogla ići pa je u zadnji čas uskočila pripravnica. Moram priznati da mi je bilo zanimljivo i, iako je bilo iscrpljujuće (vratila sam se kronično neispavana), bilo mi je ljepše nego što sam očekivala: sva djeca su bila bolja nego što sam očekivala, a i osoblje Grada mladih je uvijek spremno za suradnju i pomoć, ako se ukaže potreba. Budući da je većina dana bila oblačna ili kišna te je oko kućice bilo blato, dio vremena smo proveli u Staroj školi u kojoj se nalaze kabineti koji su izvrsno opremljeni (bolje nego ijedan gradski vrtić u Zagrebu - barem koliko je meni poznato). S obzirom na mnogo sadržaja u Staroj školi, te zanimljivu šumu i park oko kućica u kojima borave djeca, bilo nam je premalo vremena da sve istražimo. Sve u svemu, djeca su se dobro zabavila i vratila kući puna dojmova.

As I already said, I spent last week in September in The City of Youth. I took preschoolers from my Montessori group (13) and 5 children from other mixed groups. Colleague with whom I should go there couldn't go, so at the last moment intern jumped in. I must admit that it was interesting, though it was exhausting (I returned chronically sleepy), it was nicer then I expected: all the children were better than I expected, and the staff of the City of Youth is always ready for cooperation and assistance if the needed. Since most of the days was cloudy and rainy and the mud was all around our house, we spent part of the time in The Old School where are cabinets that are well equipped (better than any other city kindergarten in Zagreb - at least as far as I know). Given the many attractions in The Old School and an interesting forest and park around the houses in which children are, it was too little time to explore everything. All in all, the children have good time and returned home full of impressions.

U kućici se nalaze soba za igranje, dječja spavaonica, hodnik s garderobom, muški i ženski WC za djecu i soba za odgajatelja s kupaonicom.

U restoranu smo jeli doručak, ručak i večeru. Jutarnju i popodnevnu užinu su nam u kutijama dovozili u kućicu.

We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner in the restaurant. Morning and afternoon snacks are brought to us in the box.

Napravili smo hrast na tkanini. Djeca su oslikala tkaninu u jesenskim bojama, izrezali smo listove od hrasta (u Gradu mladih ima najviše hrastova), opcrtali dvije dječje ruke za deblo i grane i zaljepili ponovno na tkaninu.

We made oak on the fabric. Children are painted fabric in the colors of autumn, we cut the leaves of oak (in The City of Youth has the most oaks), from childrens handprints we made the trunk and branches and glued on the fabric.

U ovoj maloj sobi je vrlo mračno, iako tako ne izgleda na fotografijama. U njoj djeca sjede ili leže na jastučićima i gledaju edukativne filmove prilagođene predškolskom uzrastu. Mi smo gledali dokumentarni film o životinjama koje žive na stablu.

In this small room is very dark, though it doesn't look like it on the photos. Children sit or lie on cushions and watch educational films adapted for preschoolers. We watched a documentary about animals that live in a tree.

Djeca su u šumi tražila biljke i predmete sa sličica te su križićem obilježavala što su pronašla.

Ako će dijete pisati ili crtati što pluta a što tone, nije potrebno plastificirati, ali ćete trebati fotokopirati tablicu jer će djeca htjeti raditi eksperiment uvijek iznova :-)

If you are doing an experiment about what floats and what sinks with your kids, you may use a table I made (free download, Scribd). If you put anything wet on it, I recommend that you laminate it (if the child write or draw what floats and what sinks, it is not necessary, but you'll need to copy the table because the kids want to do the experiment again and again :-) ).

Djeca u prirodi - Grad mladih / Children in the nature

Idućih tjedan dana neću raditi u grupi s djecom, nego ću 5 dana provesti u Gradu mladih s predškolcima iz svoje i još nekoliko grupa - u sklopu programa Djeca u prirodi.

Next week I will not work in my classroom, but I will spend 5 days in "The city of youth" with preschoolers from my and several other classrooms, as part of the "Children in the nature" program.

Hrvatsko Montessori društvo / Croatian Montessori Society

Hrvatsko Montessori društvo od jučer ima stranicu na internetu! Ponosna sam što sam bila urednik, i obavila velik posao tražeći linkove, prikupljajući fotografije na kojima je Maria Montessori... još se trebaju dodati mali detalji i to je to :-)

Croatian Montessori Society  has a page on the internet, since yesterday! I am proud that I was editor, and done a great job asking for links, collecting photos with Maria Montessori ... still need to add small details and that's it :-)
