Za ideju i objavljivanje su zaslužni Deb Chitwood (autorica zanimljivog bloga Living Montessori Now) i John Bowman (autor izvrsne knjige i stranice pod nazivom Montessori At Home!). Antarktika je najjužniji i najhladniji kontinent s najmanje života, ali ipak jako privlači djecu. S lakoćom su zapamtila sve o Antarktici. U ovom postu pokazat ću što smo radili na temu životinje Antarktike.

Antarctica is the southernmost and coldest continent with the least life, but still very attractive for children. They learned all about Antarctica with ease. In this post I'll show what we've done on the Antarctic animals.

Children also found interesting picture book about polar animals. They were delighted with little windows behind which are hidden surprises - interesting facts about polar animals.

Davno smo proveli projekt o našoj državi, Republici Hrvatskoj. Žao mi je što nisam fotografirala više predmeta, pribora i aktivnosti kojima smo se bavili. Sad vam predstavljam dio onog što smo radili:

Iz redovitog programa ostao nam je memory: Hrvatska, lijepa naša. Sadrži male kartice s fotografijama različitih znamenitosti iz Republike Hrvatske. Ovu društvenu igru pretvorila sam u kartice za uparivanje.

We have memory: Croatia, our beautiful country. It contains small cards with photos of various Croatian landmarks. I turned this game into matching cards with control of error.

Davno sam izradila kartice s fotografijama zaštićenih biljaka u Republici Hrvatskoj. Ovu vježbu posebno vole predškolci.

Long ago, I made 3 part cards with photos of endangered plants in the Republic of Croatia. Preschoolers love this exercise.

Za vrijeme provedbe projekta, ostvarili smo izvrsnu suradnju s roditeljima, koji su nam donosili različite predmete iz svih dijelova Hrvatske.

During our project about Croatia, we have achieved excellent cooperation with parents, who have brought a variety of items from different parts of Croatia.

Jedna mama nam je donijela tartufe i posudila ribež za tartufe koji su djeca (kao i odgajatelji ;)) vidjeli prvi put. Najviše tartufa se može pronaći u Istri.

One mom has brought us truffles and lent us a truffle grater. We saw it for the first time. Most truffles can be found in Istria.

Šestinski kišobran je karakterističan za okolicu Zagreba. U Zagrebu se mogu pronaći različiti suveniri s motivom šestinskog kišobrana. Ovaj kišobran bio nam je poticaj za različite likovne aktivnosti, razgovore s djecom i čitanje priča iz zbirke Šestinski kišobran (Nada Iveljić).

Na otvorenom dijelu zagrebačke tržnice Dolac svi suncobrani su izrađeni u bojama šestinskog kišobrana.

Umbrella from Šestine is characteristic for the Zagreb surroundings. In Zagreb, capital of Croatia, you can find various souvenirs with Šestine umbrella motifs. Our umbrella was a stimulus for a variety of art activities, discussions with children and reading stories by Nada Iveljić: Šestinski kišobran. In the open part of Zabreb market Dolac all parasols are made in colors of Šestine umbrella.

Anima Croatica je zbirka CD-a s hrvatskom glazbom (folklor, sakralna glazba i sl.)

Anima Croatica is a collection of CDs with Croatian music (folk music, sacred music...)

"Dođi i vidi Zagreb" je jedna od slikovnica pomoću koje djeca na zgodan način uče o Zagrebu.

"Come and see Zagreb" is one of the picture books by which children in a convenient way learn about Zagreb.

"Dragi naš Zagreb" je slikovnica za stariju djecu, ali su i naši vrtićanci uživali listajući.

"Our dear Zagreb" is a picture book for older children, but preschoolers enjoyed reviewing the contents.

Ako vas interesira još slikovnica o Zagrebu, također smo čitali "Žganček i ara" o papigi i vrapcu koji upoznaju Zagreb te "U Zagrebu jednog jutra" o djetetu koje se izgubilo u Zagrebu.

If you are interested in more picture books about Zagreb, we also read "Žganček i ara" about the parrot and sparrow who learn about the city of Zagreb, and "One morning in Zagreb" about the child who is lost in big city.

Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić je najpoznatija hrvatska spisateljica za djecu. U nastavcima smo čitali roman "Čudnovate zgode šegrta Hlapića"...

Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić was most famous Croatian writer for children. We read the novel "The Marvelous Adventures and Misadventures of Hlapić, the Apprentice"...

...i "Priče iz davnine" koje su inspirirane slavenskom mitologijom.

Proveli smo još mnogo zanimljivih aktivnosti koje nisam uspjela fotografirati, ali ovo će biti dovoljno za početak.

Povremeno imam problema s glasnicama (profesionalna bolest), željela bih naučiti talijanski jezik, volim more, obožavam slušati glazbu dok sam u autu, unazad godinu dana ustanovila sam da volim s djecom ići na višednevne izlete (do prošle jeseni sam bila samo na jednodnevnim izletima), obožavam čokoladu i Coca Colu (ne volim čokolade s voćnim okusima), ponekad me opterećuje činjenica da sam perfekcionist.

Occasionally I have problems with the vocal cords (professional disease), I would like to learn Italian language, I love the sea, I love listening to music while I'm driving a car, I love to go to multi-day trips/ vacations with kindergarten children (up to last fall, I was only on 1 day trips), I love chocolate and Coca Cola (I do not like chocolate with fruity aromas), the fact that I am a perfectionist sometimes is the burden for me.

Idući tjedan s djecom ćemo obilježiti Dan jabuka. Gotovo sva djeca iz grupe vole jesti jabuke, a posebno vole pojesti jabuku nakon vježbe iz praktičnog života kao što je rezanje voća.

Next week we will celebrate Apple Day. Almost all children in the classroom like to eat apples, but they especially love to eat an apple after the exercise of practical life, such as cutting fruit.

Grad mladih II. / The City of Youth II. (2011)

U sklopu programa Djeca u prirodi ove godine u Grad mladih s kolegicom vodim sedmero djece iz svoje grupe i 15 djece iz područnog objekta. U Gradu mladih ćemo boraviti od 26. do 30. rujna. U listopadu očekujte fotke i post o tome što smo tamo radili :-)

I'm going in the City of Youth with kids again, under the Children in Nature program. Colleague and I are guiding seven children from my classroom and 15 children from other classroom. We'll stay in the City of Youth from September 26 to September 30, 2011. In October, expect photos and post about our vacation :-)

Ljeto 2011. / Summer 2011

I ovo ljeto je izgleda službeno završilo...Navodno da je prošli vikend bio zadnji vrući vikend ove godine.

Ovo ljeto sam puno vremena provela na moru. Doduše, sve je započelo boravkom u Splitu na Konferenciji, još u travnju.

Nakon toga sam otišla na ljetovanje s vrtićkom djecom o kojem ste čitali ovdje i ovdje.

This summer officially ended... Apparently, last weekend was last hot weekend of this year.

This summer I spent a lot of time at sea. However, it all started in Split at the Conference in April.

Then I went on holidays with kindergarten children, you can read here and here about it.

Nakon vrtićkih obaveza na moru, otišla sam u Mali Lošinj. Evo nekoliko sličica s Lošinja, stare postove o tome pročitajte ovdje i ovdje.

U Crikvenicu sam otišla i privatno, bez vrtićke djece, a svratila sam i do Opatije. U Zagrebu sam se opuštala uz koktele...

Vretena / Spindle box

Vretena spadaju u prvu skupinu pribora za matematiku (upoznavanje količine i simbola od 0 do 10). Radeći s ovim priborom dijete uči da se količina sastoji od pojedinačnih dijelova te upoznaje nulu. Učeći o nuli, tj. pojmu o "ništa" dijete pojačava utisak o količini. Dijete senzornim putem spoznaje količinu koju drži u ruci puno jednostavnije nego da to uči napamet. Ova vježba se u pravilu pokazuje od 4. godine na dalje.

Ako radite sa slabovidnim djetetom, možete mu zalijepiti brojeve od brusnog papira ili crvene točke koje će zamijeniti brojeve.

Spindles are in the first group of mathematics materials (introduction of quantity and symbols, from 0 to 10). Working closely with this material your child learn that quantity consists of individual parts and introduces zero. By learning about zero, the notion of "nothing" child reinforces the impression of quantity. A child is learning by sensory cognition the amount held in the hand a lot easier than to learn by heart. This exercise is usually shown from 4 y. o. onwards.

If you are working with visually impaired child, you can paste sandpaper numerals or red dots, which will replace the numbers.

Pribor se sastoji od kutije s pregradama iznad kojih su brojevi od 0 do 9, od 45 vretena i od 8 vezica ili gumica za kosu.

Material consist of a box with compartments (above are the numbers 0 to 9), a 45 spindles and 8 laces or headbands.

Dijete uz opipavanje prstom čita brojke iznad pretinaca, počevši od 1 (nulu za početak preskačemo).

Child traces the numbers with finger and read it aloud (numbers above the boxes), starting from 1 (we skip zero).

Zatim odgajatelj pokazuje djetetu na koji način će uzimati vretena iz kutije i stavljati ih u pretince. Vadimo jedno vreteno dominantnom rukom, stavljamo ga u dlan druge ruke, stisnemo šaku i kažemo "Jedan". Dijete, ako želi, ponovi i stavi vreteno u kutiju s pregradama, ispod brojke jedan. Tako radimo i s ostalim vretenima.

Then teacher shows the child how to take the spindles out of the box and put them in compartments. We take a spindle with dominant hand, put it in the palm of the other hand, clench our fist and say "One." The child repeats it, if she wants, and put a spindle in a box with compartments, under the numeral 1. We work with other spindles in the same way..

Kada trebamo više vretena, dominantnom rukom uzimamo jedno vreteno, stavimo ga u dlan druge ruke, stisnemo šaku te kažemo "Jedan", zatim uzmemo drugo vreteno (ponovimo postupak) i kažemo "Dva". Tako nastavimo do željenog broja. Vretena položimo u pretinac ispod odgovarajućeg broja.

When we fill out all the compartments we ask a child whether she see an empty compartment. The child shows a compartment below the number zero. We tell her that this compartment is empty, that there is nothing. This is called a zero (the concept of zero is very abstract for children).

Zatim se uzimaju vezice ili gumice i vežu se vretena - počevši od broja 2 (1 vreteno ne vežemo, vežemo samo više vretena. To je indirektan uvod u skupove.). Prijedlog dodatnih vježbi / Extensions:

Kada sam pisala o aktivnostima vezanim uz temu Cvijeće, obećala sam da ću jednom prilikom pokazati kako je izgledao vrt u koji su djeca posadila povrće i cvijeće.

Djeca su sama birala što će na kojem mjestu posaditi, a sve sadnice i sjeme su nam donijeli roditelji.

When I was writing about flower activities, I promised that I would show what looked like our garden in which the children planted vegetables and flowers.

Children are independently chosen the place where to plant, and all seedlings and seeds were brought to us by parents.

Brojke od brusnog papira / Sandpaper numerals

Pribor se sastoji od drvenih pločica s brojkama od brusnog papira, od 0 do 9 i od pribora za senzibiliziranje prstiju. Cilj je povezivanje naziva brojke sa simbolom i predvježba za pravilno pisanje brojki. Na ovoj vježbi se s gotovo svakim djetetom dulje zadržavam jer najčešće vrlo rano znaju imenovati brojke, ali ih ne opipavaju dobro. Znači pisanje brojke na papiru je također nepravilno, pa je važno ispraviti upornim ponavljanjem, kako se nepravilan način ne bi pretvorio u naviku.

S ovim priborom djeca rade od četvrte godine nadalje, ali često i trogodišnjaci pokazuju interes, pa im pokažem vježbu.

The material is made of wooden tiles with numerals of sandpaper, from 0 to 9, and material for the sensitization of the fingertips. The goal is to connect the names of numerals and symbols and introduction for the proper writing of numerals. I repeat this exercise more often, with almost every child, since they usually know very early to name the numerals, but do not trace it well. Writing numerals on paper is also incorrect, so persistent repetition is very important - irregular way could become a habit.

With this material children can work from the fourth year onwards, but often three year olds show an interest so I show them this exercise.

Prije početka, senzibiliziramo jagodice prstiju s kojima ćemo opipavati brojke: namočimo ih u vodu, pa obrišemo s maramicom.

Before you begin, sensitize your fingertips that trace the numerals (index and middle finger): soak them in water, and wipe with a tissue.

Pločice s brojkama iz kutije vadimo jagodicama prstiju (s bočnih strana), počevši od brojke 1 (nula je na kraju, iza brojke devet).
Pločicu pridržimo za donji lijevi ugao s prstima lijeve ruke (ako ste dešnjak), a s kažiprstom i srednjakom desne ruke opipamo brojku. Kad smo ju pravilno opipali, imenujemo ju. Dijete ponavla postupak, ako želi.

We pull out tiles with sandpaper numerals from the box with the fingertips (edges of tiles), starting with 1 (introduce zero at the end, after the numeral nine).
Hold the tile for the bottom left corner with left hand fingers (if you're right-handed), and trace the numeral with index finger and middle finger of the right hand. When we traced it proper, appoint the numeral. Child repeat procedure, if she want.

Iza jedinice uzimamo brojku 2, postupak je isti kao i s brojkom 1.

Kad isto napravimo i s brojkom tri, radimo lekciju u tri stupnja. Kad dijete nauči imenovati prva tri broja, nastavljamo dalje, ovisno o interesu djeteta. Poznate brojke stavljamo sa strane kad uzimamo nove, djetetu nepoznate.

When we did the same with numeral 3, we do a three period lesson. When a child learns to name the first three numerals, we continue, depending on the interests of the child. We put known numerals aside, when we take a new, unknown.

Nula se uvodi na kraju. / Zero is introduced in the end.

Prijedlozi dodatnih vježbi / Extensions:

Pisanje / prepisivanje brojki s pločica u pijesak (umjesto pijeska, u kutiju ili posudu možete staviti brašno, palentu...) / Writing / copying numerals in the sand (instead of sand, you can prepair the flour or cornmeal)

prelaženje pastelama ili olovkom preko brojke / rubbing numerals with crayons or pencil

Ako dijete želi, na kraju može sa škarama izrezati brojku.

If a child wants, she can cut out the numeral with scissors.

Drago mi je da je prethodni post o aktivnostima na temu Cvijeće izazvao mnogo pozitivnih reakcija :-)

Pa, evo još malo aktivnosti s istom temom. Neke od ovih aktivnosti sam već opisivala, ali budući da sam ih ponovo provodila s djecom, spomenula sam ih i u ovom postu.

Well, here's a little more activities on the same topic. Some of these activities I have described before, but since I did the same activities again, I mentioned them in this post too.

Plakati: dijelovi biljke, dijelovi korijena, kako raste sjeme (životni ciklus biljke), zaštićene biljke i od lukovice do biljke.

Posters: parts of plant, parts of the root, how to grow seeds (life cycle of the plant), endangereded plants and cycle - from bulb to plant.

Cards: flower and seed. Seeds are in a plastic bags with control dots on the back. Children can match them with cards containing a photo and name (older children who have learned to distinguish seeds and can read, can work without the cards with photos).

Jedan dulji period proučavali smo temu cvijeće (u sklopu projekta o biljkama). U ovom postu dajem pregled nekih aktivnosti.

We studied the topic of flowers (as part of the project about plants) for a longer period. In this post I give an overview of some activities.

Dijelovi cvijeta kako ih je vidjelo dijete - tučak, prašnici, latice, čaška ili lapovi:

Transfer of artificial petals with a clothespin (I offered this exercise to children this spring for the first time, instead of tweezers I put a clothespin to make it more interesting for them). Although transferring petals with a clothespin is more demanding than with tweezers, the children were delighted with this change:

Proljetos smo ispred naše sobe dnevnog boravka posadili mali vrt (ovo je fotografija u početnoj fazi - kako je kasnije izgledao, vidjet ćete u jednom od narednih postova). Djeca su samostalno sijala sjeme cvijeća i sadila.
~We have planted a small garden in front of our classroom this spring (this is a photograph of an early stage - you'll see in a later posts how the garden looked like later). Children were individually sown the seed and planted flowers.

I'll try to enumerate the things that I have not mentioned in similar "tasks" so far.

ove godine sam na moru bila najdulje u životu - 4 tjedna, postala sam ovisnik o Pinterestu, volim putovati i čitati, mnoge stvari radim ili završavam u zadnji trenutak - ali sve je uvijek gotovo na vrijeme :-), volim fotografirati, prije početka svake pedagoške godine hvata me lagana trema koja nestaje u toku prvog radnog dana, ne volim jesti morske plodove (osim, tu i tamo, ribe).

This year I was on my beach holidays the longest in my life - 4 weeks, I've become addicted to Pinterest, I like to travel and to read, many things I do or end up in the last minute - but everything is always done on time :-), I love to photograph, before the very start of each school year jitters caught me which disappears during the first day, I do not like to eat seafood (except, here and there, the fish).

Ovu fotografiju sam snimila na trajektu kad sam putovala na more. Iznenadila sam se ovim podacima (znala sam da se otpad dugo razgrađuje, ali neke brojke su me zaista šokirale)...

This photo I shot on the ferry when I traveled on my vacation. I was surprised by this information (I knew that the waste breaks down long, but some numbers are really shocked me)...

Posjet Aquariumu / Visit to the Aquarium

U prethodnom postu o ljetovanju u Crikvenici sam obećala da će idući post sadržavati fotografije iz crikveničkog Aquariuma.

~In a previous post about vacation in Crikvenica I promised that next post include photos from Crikvenica Aquarium.

Djeca su bila impresionirana različitim jadranskim i tropskim ribama te ostalim životinjama:

Dojmovi s ljetovanja / Impressions from a summer vacation

Vjerojatno se sjećate da sam spomenula odlazak na ljetovanje s vrtićkom djecom.

~You probably remember that I mentioned going on vacation with kindergarten children.

Pa, evo kratkog izveštaja o tome kako smo se proveli u Crikvenici.

~Well, here's a brief report on how we spent our vacation in Crikvenica.

Bili smo smješteni u hostelu Stoimena koji je star ali dobar za prenoćiti i ostaviti stvari - ionako smo većinu vremena proveli vani - vrijeme je bilo prekrasno.

~We were staying in the Stoimena hostel who is old but good for the night and leave our things - anyway, we were on the beach most of the time - the weather was sunny.

Već smo prvi dan boravka u Crikvenici otišli u potragu za mušmulama koje su rasle pored našeg balkona. Vrijedni animatori su nam nabrali mnogo ovog slatkog i ukusnog voća koje sam probala prvi put u životu.

~We have already the first day of our stay in Crikvenica went in search of mušmule that grew next to our balcony. Valuable animators picked a lot of sweet and tasty fruit that I ate the first time in my life.

Napomena: neki ljudi ovo voće zovu mušmule, a neki nešpule. Također sam čula da se ovo voće zove japanska nešpula.

~Note: Some people call this mušmule, and some nešpule. I also heard that this fruit is called Japanese medlar.

Odmaralište ima i svoju plažu, ali je more na tom mjestu puno morskih ježeva. Zbog toga smo boravili na zgodnoj šljunčanoj plaži, udaljenoj stotinjak metara od odmarališta.

~The resort has its own beach, but a lot of sea urchins settled there. That's why we stayed in nice pebble beach, cca hundred meters away from our hostel. "Our" beach:

Djeca su s animatorima radila bazene na plaži...

~Children and animators built pools at the beach...

...a poslije su i sama kreirala razne bazene i građevine od kamenja iz vode.

~...and later they created a variety of swimming pools and buildings of stones from the water themselves.

Svaki dan smo prije jutarnjeg i popodnevnog odlaska na plažu djeci kupile sladolede.

~Every day, before going to the beach, we bought ice cream for kids.

Prije odlaska na ljetovanje, za svako dijete sam ukrasila limenu kutiju od kave. Sva sreća da je samo desetero djece išlo na ljetovanje :-)

Vrlo brzo sam pretvorila 10 limenki u kutije za sakupljanje morskog "blaga". Obojala sam ih akrilnom bojom, stavila lak za raspucavanje, obojala još jednom, isprintala dječja imena ukrasnim slovima i zalijepila običnim lakom za salvetnu tehniku.

~Before going on vacation, I decorated tin box of coffee for every child. Luckily, only ten children went on vacation :-)

Very quickly I turned 10 cans in a boxes for a collection of marine "treasure". I painted them with acrylic paint, applied the crackle medium, painted with acrylic paint once again, printed childrens names with decorative letters and glued with decoupage lack. These are some of them:

Ako se pitate što su djeca donosila u svoje kutije, evo odgovora: kamenčiće, školjkice, stakalca i sl.:

~If you're wondering what the children are brought into their boxes, here's the answer: stones, shells, glass, etc.:

Turisti i dječji animatori su nam izronili i morske životinje. Evo samo nekoliko primjera:

~Tourists and a children's entertainers (animators) dived some marine animals. Here are just a few examples:

Pretpostavljam da možete zamisliti koliko su djeca bila uzbuđena promatrajući i opipavajući životinje koje prvi put vide uživo!

~I suppose you can imagine how excited the children were watching and touching the animals that they seen live for the first time in their lives!

Osim sakupljanja kamenčića i traženja morskih životinja, djeca su se svakodnevno igrala u vodi, dva puta dnevno. Imala su i trenere plivanja koji su ih učili plivati, a kad su se treneri bavili djecom iz drugog vrtića, plivali su sa mnom i kolegicom. Već su drugi dan sva djeca u ruksacima ostavila plivalice i krenula u avanturu s daskama za plivanje i ostalim rekvizitima za plivače početnike. Uz našu pratnju plivali su i u duboku vodu a petero djece koja nisu znala plivati su proplivala bez ikakvih pomagala.

~As well as collecting pebbles and search of marine animals, the children were playing in the water every day, twice a day. Children had the swim coaches who taught them to swim. When the coaches were dealing with children from other kindergarten, they were swimming with me and my colleague. The second day all the children left their arm floats in backpacks and went on an adventure with boards for swimming and other sports equipment for beginners. With our companion were swimming in deep water and the five who did not know how to swim are they learned to swim.

Svaku večer na košarkaškom igralištu u sklopu odmarališta održavao se mini disco, sportske igre i ostali zabavni i rekreativni sadržaji. Voditelji su bili dječji animatori, a djeca su se za disco svaku večer uređivala, odijevala odjeću sa šljokicama, kragnicama, radile su se frizure...

~Every night on the basketball court in the resort held a mini disco, sports games and other entertainment and recreational facilities. Leaders were children entertainers / animators. Children were beautifly arranged every night for the mini disco, dressed clothes with sequins, collars, we did a nice hairstyles...

Osim plesanja i ostalih navedenih sadržaja, imali smo i večer slikanja. Slikali smo na plaži, gledali zalazak sunca, a kad je već pao mrak i veći dio slika na platnu bio završen, otišli smo na spavanje.

~Besides dancing and other listed facilities, we had an evening of painting. We painted at the beach, watching the sunset, and when darkness fell, and most of the painting on the canvas was completed, we went to sleep.

Otišli smo i u posjet crikveničkom Aquariumu, ali o tome u slijedećem postu ;-)

Nakon posjeta Aquariumu, prošetali smo se Crikvenicom, i poigrali u jednom dječjem parku na plaži:

~After visiting the Aquarium, we walked to Crikvenica, and played in a children's park on the beach:

Također smo otišli i na panoramsku vožnju brodom od Crikvenice do Kačjaka, pa do Šila na Krku.

~We also went on the scenic boat ride from Crikvenica to Kačjak, and Šilo on island Krk.

Vozili smo se u katamaranu koji je imao stakleno dno, pa su djeca u Šilu mogla promatrati morsko dno.
~We drove in the catamaran, which had a glass bottom, so the kids could look at Šilo seabed.

Osim promatranja podmorja, djeci je bilo zanimljivo hraniti galebove za vrijeme vožnje katamaranom.

~In addition to observing the underwater world, it was interesting for the children to feed the seagulls.

Svako dijete je imalo priliku sjesti u kapetanovu stolicu i "upravljati" katamaranom.

~Each child had the opportunity to sit in the captain's chair and "manage" catamaran.

Roditelji su svojoj djeci poslali razglednice i djeci je bilo jako drago kad smo ih čitali. Djeca su također poslala razglednice svojim obiteljima, a na kraju su za uspomenu kući ponijeli i magnete s motivima iz Crikvenice koje su sami odabrali u lokalnoj suvenirnici.

~Parents sent postcards to their children and they were very happy when we read them. Children are also sent postcards to their families, and eventually they brought a souvenir magnets with motifs from Crikvenica which they selected by themselves in a local souvenir shop.

Na kraju boravka u odmaralištu, animatori su svoj djeci i odgajateljima podijelili diplome i ogrlice s kamenčićima iz mora.

~At the end of our stay at the resort, animators gave certificates and necklaces with stones from the sea to all the children and teachers.

Ljetovanje u Crikvenici je bilo lijepo iskustvo - bilo je malo djece pa smo se svakome mogle lijepo posvetiti, ravnateljica, zdravstvena voditeljica i dječji animatori su uvijek bili ljubazni, dobre volje i na usluzi djeci i nama, odgojiteljima. Vrijeme je bilo prekrasno svih sedam dana.

~Vacation in Crikvenica was a nice experience - there were only 10 children present, so we could devote enough attention to every child; director, head nurse and children's entertainers / animators have always been friendly, they were always in a good mood and were constantly at the service of children and educators. The weather was beautiful all week.

Eksperiment Pluta/tone je djeci jedan od omiljenih!

Evo kako pribor za ovu interesantnu vježbicu izgleda u "mojoj" sobi:

~ Experiment Sink/Float is one of our favorites!

Here's how this interesting material looks like in "my" classroom:

Razvrstavanje u posudice: U tamnoplavoj posudici se nalaze različiti predmeti. Dijete ih stavlja u posudu s vodom, a kad vidi plutaju li ili tonu, stavlja ih u odgovarajuću svjetloplavu posudicu (ispred su natpisi PLUTA i TONE):

~ The classification in little pots: In a dark blue pot are different items. The child puts them in a pot with water, and when she see if they float or sink, she puts them in the appropriate light blue pot (in front are the labels FLOAT and SINK):

Na posljetku su svi predmeti razvrstani, ovisno o tome plutaju li na vodi ili ne:

~ Finally, all objects are classified, depending on if they float on the water or not:

Umjesto razvrstavanja predmeta u posudice, djeca mogu razvrstavati predmete i u tablicu sa stupcima PLUTA i TONE. Papir s tablicom sam plastificirala kako bi se mogao upotrijebiti mnogo puta.

~ Instead of sorting items into little pots, children can sort items in a table with columns SINK and FLOAT. I laminated paper with table, so it could be used many times.

Djeca su i sama počela raditi svoje bilješke. Djeca koja znaju pisati, pisala su nazive predmeta, a djeca koja ne znaju pisati, su crtala predmete koji plutaju, odnosno tonu:

~ Children have started doing their own notes. Children who know how to write, write the names of objects, and children who do not know how to write, drew objects that float or sink:

Kad završe vježbu, djeca sav pribor obrišu suhom krpom koju zatim stave na sušenje.
~ When children finish the exercise, they wipe all the material with a cloth which is then placed on radiator or some sunny spot in the classroom.

No Child is Born to Die - Campaign & Petition

Ovom prilikom bih zahvalila Michelle (Best Toys for Toddlers, This and that about kids...) koja me uključila u kampanju No Child Born To Die (koju organizira Save the Children).

Vrlo je važno djeci osvjestiti važnost pomaganja drugima, upoznati ih s nezavidnom situacijom u kojoj se nalaze siromašna djeca koja se bore za život... Najžalosnije od svega je da se mnoga djeca bore za život, a njihova bolest može biti sprječena ako se cijepe. Save the Children se zalaže da sva djeca svijeta dobiju svoje cijepivo.

I would like to thank Michelle (Best Toys for Toddlers, This and that about kids ...) because she tagged me for the campaign No Child Born To Die (organized by Save the Children).
It is very important to get aware of the importance of helping others, familiarize our children with an unenviable situation in which are other children around the world, who are fighting for their lives ... The saddest thing of all is that many children fighting for their lives and their disease can be prevented if they get their vaccine. Save the Children is committed to all children of the world get their vaccine.

Evo o čemu se konkretno radi:

In January, Save the Children launched its most ambitious campaign to date, No Child Born to Die. Every year 8 million children under five die from illnesses we know how to treat or prevent, such as pneumonia, measles...
Save The Children is focusing on the provision of vaccinations and healthcare workers. In June there is a meeting in London hosted by David Cameron and attended by other world leaders. Save The Children aims to make as much noise as possible to ensure the funding shortfall for vaccinations (4.7 billion) is met by all the donor countries…to fully fund vaccines for every child in the world.

Ljetovanje s vrtićkom djecom / Summer vacation with kids from kindergarten

Od 11.-18. lipnja ću biti u Crikvenici s djecom iz vrtića. Boravit ćemo u hostelu Stoimena. Baš me zanima kako će sve izgledati budući da prvi put idem na more s djecom iz vrtića. Iako moram priznati da sam opuštenija nakon boravka u Gradu mladih jer u Crikvenicu idu uglavnom ista djeca.

From June 11th to 18th I will be in Crikvenica with children from kindergarten. We are staying at the Stoimena hostel. I wonder how it will all look like since it is the first time I go to summer vacation with the kids from kindergarten. Although I must admit that I am more relaxed after staying in the City of Youth because the same children are going to Crikvenica.

Europa I / Europe I

O aktivnostima vezanim uz temu Europa sam pisala davno, u jednom starom postu. U ovom postu ću opisati koje smo još aktivnosti proveli u vrtiću, učeći o našem kontinentu - Europi.

I wrote about the activities related to the topic of Europe, in an old post, long ago. In this post, I will describe the activities that we have done in the kindergarten, learning about our continent - Europe.

Zastave / Flags:
Pridruživanje zastave pripadajućoj europskoj državi iz puzzla Europe (za ovu vježbu sam pripremila i nazive Europskih država koje ne možete vidjeti na fotografijama, ali ih besplatno možete skinuti u mojim Scribd dokumentima):

Joining the flag to the European country from the puzzle map of Europe (for this exercise, I prepared the labels with names of European countries that you can not see the photos, but you can download them for free at my Scribd documents - only in Croatian language)

Djeci sam ponudila i ploče s "pikicama" ili "čavlićima" koje sam preuzela iz redovnog programa. Ovu igračku za razvoj fine motorike sam pretvorila u Montessori pribor. Svaku boju sam stavila u posebnu posudu i zajedno s pločom za slaganje stavila na pladanj. Taj pribor nam služi isključivo za slaganje zastava. Djeca ga o b o ž a v a j u :-)

I offered to children mosaic peg board which I took from the regular kindergarten classroom. This toy is great for developing fine motor skills and I've turned it into a Montessori material. I placed pegs (every color in a separate box) and board on a tray. We use this material solely for creating the flag. Kids l o v e this activity :-) They even created flags that doesn't exist in the real world and came up with the names of the countries.

Puzzle: Europske države / Puzzle map of Europe

Budući da je mlađoj djeci teško složiti puzzle s europskim državama, odlučila sam napraviti kontrolnu kartu: fotografirala sam puzzle i isprintala. Plastificirala sam zbog izdržljivosti.

Since younger children find it difficult to work with puzzle map of European countries (soooo many countries), I decided to make a control chart: I photographed the puzzle and printed it. I laminated it for endurance.

Suradnja s roditeljima / Cooperation with parents:

Roditelji su nam donosili mnoge predmete, suvenire i časopise pa su djeca mogla zorno vidjeti karakteristične predmete za razne Europske države.

Parents have brought us many things, souvenirs and magazines, so the children could clearly see the specific items from various European countries.

Kastanjete su nam posudili roditelji koji su bili u Španjolskoj.

Parents who were in Spain lent us castanets.

Tulipane smo dobili kad smo učili o Nizozemskoj.

When we learned about the Netherlands, the parents have donated tulips.

Glazba / Music:

Do sad smo obilježili mnoge obljetnice raznih europskih glazbenika. Čitajući blog Counting Coconuts, dobila sam ideju da sliku svakog glazbenika stavim u okvir. Okvire s portretom glazbenika i s njegovim imenom i potpisom stavljam uz kazetofon. Djeca tako uočavaju izgled i lakše povezuju glazbenika s djelom koje slušamo. Kao primjer fotografirala sam Mozarta i Vivaldija:

Until now, we celebrated many anniversaries of various European musicians. While I was reading Counting Coconuts (one of my favorite blogs), I got the idea to put a picture of each musician in the frame. Frame with a portrait of musician and his name and signature we put next to the CD player. Children also perceive the look and it is easier to connect the musician with the music that we listen. As an example, I photographed Mozart and Vivaldi:

Russian folk tales I've got for a birthday gift when I was a kid, and while learning about Russia, I brought this book in kindergarten:

Za vrijeme posjeta knjižnici djeca su odabrala knjigu s bajkama braće Grimm.

During our visit to the library the children chose a book with the fairy tales of brothers Grimm.

Pročitali smo bajku o Matovilki, a djeca su nacrtala crteže od kojih smo napravili slikovnicu. Kad su djeca prepričavala priču, bilježila sam tekst koji sam pisala ispod odgovarajućih crteža.

When we read a fairy tale about Rapunzel, children were drawing, so we made a picture book. When the children retold the story, I noted down the text that I wrote under their drawings.

Za recenziju sam odabrala kartice za upoznavanje stanja tvari. Smatram da je ta tema djeci vrlo apstraktna, ali i interesantna.

U priboru koji sam dobila za recenziju se nalazi kontrolna stranica, kartice s definicijama stanja tvari (sa sličicama i bez njih), nomenklaturne kartice, kartice s nazivima stanja tvari (sa sličicama i bez njih), kartice s fotografijama za razvrstavanje krutina, tekućina i plinova (s nazivima i bez njih). Sve navedeno sam prevela na hrvatski jezik, isprintala, izrezala, plastificirala i opet izrezala.

Ono što mi se svidjelo kod ovog materijala je:

- da se može prilagođavati potrebama svakog djeteta - od 3 godine nadalje. Djeca koja nisu naučila čitati mogu raditi sa slikovnim karticama, djeca koja znaju čitati mogu raditi s nazivima i sličicama, a najstarija djeca samo s nazivima (potpuna apstrakcija).

- materijal je jednostavan za upotrebu - isprintajte sve ili stranice koje želite i spremni ste za rad.

- djeca ga vole.

I chose the cards for exploring states of matter for the review. I believe that this topic is very abstract to children, but also interesting.

The materials that I got for review is a control chart, the cards with the definitions (informations) of states of matter (with pictures and without them), 3-part cards, classification title cards with names of states of matter (with pictures and without them), sorting cards with photographs to classify solids, liquids and gases (with labels and without them). All of the above I have translated into Croatian language, printed out, cut, laminated and cut again.

What I liked in this material is:

- it can be customized for the needs of each child - from 3 years onwards. Children who have not learned to read can work with picture cards, children who can read can work with labels and pictures, and the oldest children only with labels (abstract).

- the material is easy to use - print all or only the pages you want and you're ready to work.

- kids love it.

Djeca su čak predložila izradu knjižice za čitanje, koju još nismo izradili.

Children have even suggested the creation of booklet, but we haven't made it yet.

Djeci sam prikazala na konkretnom primjeru, sa staklenim kuglicama, kako su povezane čestice tvari u čvrstom, tekućem i plinovitom stanju:

I showed the children on a concrete example, with glass beads, how particles of matter are related in solid, liquid and gaseous state:

U Velikoj knjizi znanja, zanimljivom izvoru informacija, sam pronašla zgodan prikaz stanja tvari. Pomislila sam kako bi bilo zgodno da djeca, po uzoru na primjer iz knjige, svojim tijelima pokažu kako su čestice tvari povezane.

In Velika knjiga znanja (The Great Book of Knowledge), interesting source of information, I found a nice view of the states of matter. I thought it would be nice to children, as in the example from the book, show with their bodies how particles of matter are linked together:

Različita hrana koju su djeca upoznala u određenom obliku može prijeći u drugo stanje tvari. Ako se sjećate, davno sam opisala kako smo radili pokus s agregatnim stanjima vode i naučili kako se mijenjaju.

Different foods that children met in a certain form can change into different state of matter. If you remember, I described long ago how we were doing experiment - the aggregate states of water.

Djeci je bilo zanimljivo saznati da je jaje jedina namirnica koja zagrijavanjem, tj. kuhanjem postaje tvrđa a ne mekša.

Children find it interesting to learn that the egg is the only food that is becoming harder, not softer during warming / cooking.
